In case unexpected environmental events happen in aircraft cabins or cargos, the flight safety and the health safety of passengers and crew members will be considerably affected since aircraft cabins, cargos and avionics compartments are located in a narrow and closed limited spaces. Disasters include cases like wires becoming aging leading to self-burning producing contaminants like CO, inhalable particles, etc. Therefore, studies on the methods of monitoring cabin environments and providing alerts timely and accurately become ultimately important. In this talk, 3D deployment of wireless sensor network in the aircraft, the environmental parameters measurement methods and models over a network system and the multi-stage hybrid data fusion decision algorithms will be presented. Some simulation verifications will also be shown and discussed. The goal of this study is to going to suggest new methods to monitor aircraft environments accurately, timely stably and reliably while decreasing the false alarm rate.

Rui WangRui Wang received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA, USA in 2011, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Guizhou University, Guiyang, Guizhou, China in 2007 and the B.S. degree in industry automation from Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Tianjin, China in 2003, respectively. She is currently an Associate Professor in College of Information Engineering and Automation at Civil Aviation University of China, Tianjin, China.

Her current main research interests include condition monitoring, Fault-Tolerant Control Systems (FTCS) of aircraft environments and systems; dynamic systems modeling, estimation, identification, advanced control techniques for health management of safety-critical systems; nonlinear control theory its application such as chaotic systems.

She is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society and Control Systems. She is also an Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Modelling, Identification and Control. She also serves as the Program Chair, the International Program Chair, the Session Chair for the international peer-reviewed conference and the reviewer for several international journals and conferences. She is the principal editor for 1 book and the author/co-author of approximately 30 papers. She is a PI or attends about 10 projects and authorized for several Chinese patents.

She has been awarded as the Model for National Civil Aviation Women, Advance Individual of Tianjin Educational Systems, the Second Level Personnel for Tianjin Innovative Talents Training Project and several awards from Civil Aviation University of China.
